Reconcile?

thunderous-storm:

Glancing back sharply, Thor’s baby blue eyes rise once more to gaze at his brother. He contemplates the question for a moment, before nodding slowly. “Eventually, yes, I believe so,” the blonde murmurs, his eyes lowering to the ground not a moment after he speaks. Clasping his hands together in front of him, he murmurs, “Although, if I am to be honest with you, I believe this to be a most unsuitable punishment for what has happened. Your silver tongue has naught to do with what happened. Were I the one to decide your punishment, I… I would rather shut you away in your rooms than silence your voice.” He sighs.

Loki continues to gaze at Thor, even after the blond adverts his gaze. But after another moment, he sighs in frustration and brushes past Thor to sit upon his bed once more. Lowering his head into his hands, all is silent within the room as well as Thor’s mind. Finally…

‘You did not realize, did you. Not until Heimdall spoke of it.’

Reconcile?

thunderous-storm:

Thor’s brows furrow slightly, head tilting and pain clutching at his heart at the sight of Loki’s blood staining his lips and fingers. He forces himself to speak. “… For this horrible thing I have done to you. For… Silencing you…” With those words, Thor finds himself no longer able to meet Loki’s eyes. His gaze shifts, landing on the floor. The guilt which he has repressed for these long days bubbles up within him, eyes burning with angry, disgusted tears left unshed. “I-I am so sorry, my brother… I know I do not deserve any sort of forgiveness, but that does not stop me from wanting it…”

Shaking his head, Thor turns away from Loki again, once again glancing at the door. The atmosphere is tense. “I… Perhaps I should leave you.”

Loki’s eyes raise to linger upon Thor’s back, inhaling slowly through his nose. The air nearly crackles between them, and he feels as though the hair upon his body is standing on end.

‘Do you-… You think Odin will ever lift my punishment?’ The voice in Thor’s head is softer; more vulnerable instead of the sharp tone of disdain from earlier.

Reconcile?

thunderous-storm:

At the mention of their father, Thor shakes his head. “No, Loki, you misunderstand… I merely came to see you, to see if you were alright, if you… Somehow, had perhaps…” The blonde falls silent, not knowing what to say. He wishes more than anything for Loki’s forgiveness, yet he knows that he deserves nothing of the sort. Yet, still, he wants it, and he must know how he feels. “… If you have forgiven me, even in the slightest.”

‘Forgiven you,’ Loki echoes, more of a statement than a question. His eyes lift to gaze at Thor steadily - or, as steadily as he can manage. His lips pull up into a smile, and tears prick his eyes as a stitch or two tears at his skin. He lifts a hand to gingerly touch his lips, staring calmly at the blood upon his fingers. ‘You are asking if I have forgiven you? For what?’

Reconcile?

thunderous-storm:

Thor’s eyes widen, shocked azure piercing straight through to Loki. The blonde’s mouth drops open, the surprise evident from the expression on his face. After a short moment, the God catches himself, schooling his features and closing his mouth. His gaze remains on Loki, however, a small smile growing on his lips. “… Brother… I cannot express my happiness.” Thor takes a few steps forward, sure that Loki would allow it.

Sighing through his nose, Loki holds his ground beside the bookshelf. Gazing down at Thor’s navy boots, he taps his fingers on his forearm. ‘Yes, yes, you’re overwhelmed at the mere sound of my voice.’ He rolls his eyes, leaning back against the wall, still avoiding Thor’s gaze. He is unsure of what he would find there, or of what Thor might see in his own emerald orbs. ‘… Is there anything else? Or did you simply come to assure Odin that I am not getting into any trouble?’

thunderous-storm:

Thor starts, staring at Loki, confusion and shock in his eyes. He nearly stumbles to the ground, before gathering himself, gazing evenly at Loki. “… Loki, was that… You? In… my head?” The blonde swallows, brows furrowed, and he hopes, hopes with every fiber of his being that he can still hear his brother’s voice, somehow. Somehow.

Loki lowers his head slightly, gazing down at the deep crimson carpet beneath their feet.

‘Indeed. Do you honestly think you can silence me so easily, Thor?’ The voice is a scoff - disgusted that Thor thinks so lowly of him. He crosses his arms.

thunderous-storm:

Thor swallows, brows knit together as he gazes evenly at Loki. He allows himself to give his brother a once over, his eyes catching on the sight of the threads holding his lips together. The blonde feels his hands curl into fists, frustration and self-disgust entering his mind, and with another sigh, he turns his eyes away from Loki, unable to look any longer upon what he has done to his brother.

‘I… I should say something…’ With a glance towards the ravenette, Thor murmurs, “I… I wish we could speak once more, as we used to…”

The ravenette lifts his eyes to gaze at the man standing opposite of him, examining his anguished expression for a short moment. Then…

‘Fortunately for you, we can.’

Loki watches Thor, anxious to see if his spell had worked properly.

thunderous-storm:

As Loki moves, Thor watches him, a frown crossing his expression when the ravenette does not turn to face him once again. Once more, he opens his mouth to speak, but finds that there is nothing that he can say. The blonde’s head tips forward, his eyes dropping to the ground, mouth closing. A sigh escapes him. ‘What is there to say to him? I cannot merely apologize. Nothing can forgive what I have done to him. I do not truly deserve to be in his presence… Not after all that has happened between the two of us. No matter how I love him and attempt to show it, naught can make up for this wrong I have done.’ With these thoughts in his mind, Thor turns, glancing at the door behind him, wondering if he should simply leave.

‘No. I must try,’ he tells himself, and turns to gaze at Loki once more.

“… How have you been, my brother? I see your… wounds have healed well…” It was a pathetic attempt, but it was all he could think to say, short of dropping to his knees and begging forgiveness that would not be granted to him.

‘Indeed they have,’ Loki muses, lingering near the bookshelf for a moment longer. He contemplates testing his new-found magic on Thor. In truth, he has many things to say to the blond, but nothing that he can put into words just this moment. He feels as though Thor is about to leave, and he does not want that, so he turns around slowly to face him, fixing an emerald gaze upon the tall blond.

‘The pain in his expression is obvious.’ The ravenette blinks slowly, his own expression remaining neutral. ‘… Sentiment.’
